Medium- Acrylic on Canvas Year- 2015 _ Titled Change in Life, this symbolic piece explores our rapid evolution as a society. I have utilized chess pieces to represent us—the people of the modern world—standing firmly in the present. In contrast, the hazy, intricate pencil sketches in the background evoke the "old era," a time when limited technology and exposure necessitated deep, exhaustive detail to make concepts understandable. _ To elaborate further, in this symbolic work, titled Change in Life, I explore the profound evolution of the human mind as we bridge the gap between two eras. The chess pieces represent us—the inhabitants of the modern age—poised and present. Behind them, the hazy, intricate pencil sketches fade like a memory of a time when the world moved at a slower, more deliberate pace. In that "old era," our ancestors relied on deep, painstaking detail to find understanding in a world without our current reach of technology. _ Over the centuries, the human spirit has transformed. With the mass availability of information, we have become quick thinkers, processing the world with newfound speed and efficiency. This painting captures that transition, contrasting the sharpness of the present with the fading complexity of the past. It is a reflection of how far we have come, inviting the viewer to contemplate the cost and the beauty of our rapid intellectual evolution. _ CHANGE IN LIFE-1 was honoured to be selected for and displayed at the Delhi International Art Festival in 2016, marking a significant milestone in my journey to document our changing human landscape. _ By Bhartii Singh (artist behind the piece of art)
